Cher is dead, long live Cher

Twitter has proven again that it is a force worth reckoning. This time the rumor that Cher had died was being tweeted like wildfire Thursday and Friday (Jan 26-27, 2012) until it was proved to be either a joke, prank or something else.

It goes to prove how much people will repeat something they read or heard even if they have no proof. Can you say politics?

Tired of the heat of summer yet?

Don't let the heat of summer get to you. Go watch some snow boarding videos or catch up with your favorite winter sports figure. Think COLD.

After you have finished watching those cold videos and reading those ski goggles reviews, wear those new ski goggles and check out the latest in what is coming to your TV this coming fall. No I am not talking about the new fall line-up but the winter sports that will starting soon.

On the snow boarding gossip side, did you know that Cory Smith was doing some summer snow boarding. Yep he headed out to Mt. Hood near his home town of Portland, Oregon and had some summer fun. It is August and there is still plenty of snow on that mountain. No wonder he has plenty of chances to practice. He even boasted that he made some boards out of wood and tried them out. This summer in Oregon is reported to be the coldest on record and some of the ski resorts are still open. With highs only in the 80's it looks like there will be year-round skiing to be found there.

The domain name is gone

I saw no point in having a top level domain that spoke more about dogs than Hollywood gossip, so it is gone. Right now some dip shit bought it for a real estate website. All I can say is good luck with that one. I might be shopping around for another domain name for the blog, but I am in no hurry. After all, I still get the visitors and apparently Google has already re-indexed everything. So for now, this is still the official "Gossip Hound" until I play with the name.

Two and a Half Men is a goner

I have kept silent on the subject of Charlie Sheen and his departure from the most popular TV show on the air......till now.

I shake my head in total disbelief when people in general have turned against Sheen. After all, the show is based on his real life, that was according to Chuck Lorre, the creator of Two and a Half Men. So why are people surprised when they hear that Charlie has 2 live in girlfriends, parties all night long with booze and drugs and has the money to spend, spend, spend. He and Charlie Harper are one in the same.

Now here is an interesting thought:
Should the sitcom still stay in production but with a different actor playing the part of Charlie, can Charlie Sheen sue for using his lifestyle without due compensation? After all, it was based on Charlie's real life exploits.

This nutty week in review

Damn, this week is nuts. Just today Zsa Zsa Gabor, who is 93 by the way, was taken to the hospital with a blood clot in her leg. There is a danger of it moving to her heart or lungs but she would probably undergo a quick procedure that puts a small filter in her vein that leads from her leg to her heart that will block the clot from killing her.

Next we had rumors of an Avatar 2 with Sigourney Weaver back on the screen......wait a minute, didn't she die in Avatar? Now "they" are saying that "Grace," the character that Sigourney played, did not die. I suspected that Grace got absorbed into the planet like all the other lifeforms did but to bring her back as a being, that will be interesting.

The hype over the new Harry Potter movie is .........lets say, ho hum. Not much fanfare played up on this one. A few TV ads but not like in years past where fans were lining the streets for the cinemas to open up. Most of the die hard Potter fans have grown up, grown older and are a lot less able to pay for the $13 movie ticket plus popcorn and a drink. The last time I took in a movie was last month and for 2 people it cost almost $50 for tickets, a drink and popcorn. The concession stand almost broke the bank!!

The Harry Potter movie has already premiered in London on Nov 11 and is expected to go nation wide in the USA on November 19th 2010. Now I ask you, why the delay? They should have opened it up the day after the premier or the same day. Oh well....it is after all just...... ho, hum.

Of course we had a few famous people pass away this week. Dino De Laurentiis left us at the ripe old age of 91.

This week's Pee Brain Award goes to Jeff Zucker

If you have ever been upset at the fact that your favorite TV show on NBC got canceled, you can thank Jeff Zucker. He has been the network's CEO for the last 24 years. His latest chop job was the original Law and Order series. He was also the man behind the O'Brian and Leno fiasco. His reasons are often beyond belief and sometimes he gives no reason at all.

He has been the ax man for NBC for way too long. At least that is what the new owners of NBC are thinking. You see Comcast is now the majority stake holder at NBC and they are thinking that things will be changing and Zucker will be out. I can hear the cheering of out of work actors and producers now.......shhhhh.......you can hear them too.

The gossip surrounding the Kyron Horman case

If you have not been following the disappearance of Kyron Horman, let me give you a quick refresher. Kyron is a 7 year old boy that disappeared from a suburb of Portland, Oregon just over a month ago. He was first reported missing by his step mother Terri Horman when he failed to get off the school bus after school. The case has changed dramatically since the first day he was reported missing.

His father and step mother have separated and Terri (Kyron's step mother) is suspected by his father of playing a major role in his son's disappearance. They separated soon after Kyron's father found out about Terri's plot to have him (the father) killed last year.

This case has had more twists than a cork screw. Now a friend of Terri's is implicated in this ever deepening story. Of course there are amateur sleuths on the trail and here is just one message board that has some interesting  insider tales to tell. The original poster is related to a relative involved in the case.

Since the disappearance of Kyron, Terri has also been involved with another man. There was also a rumor that Kyron's dad was also staying with a "friend" after the separation and that "friend" is a lady "friend." He has since moved back into his home and had Terri removed from the house.

That is a lot of goings on for just a few short weeks. All that and the question is still open....is Kyron still alive?

The famous 911 Charlie Sheen phone call

In case you missed it, here is that 911 phone call that Charlie Sheen's wife, Brooke, made to report him and thus lead to his arrest.

Simon Crowell to quit Idol

American Idol gossip alert!! Simon Crowell is rumored to be calling it quits. The video below has other Hollywood gossip too. Steven Tyler at age 61 is back in drug rehab. At 61 years old you would think he knows better.

Behind the scenes of the new Green Hornet movie

This is a behind the scenes look at the new movie "The Green Hornet". The set was foggy and there is no narration so listen carefully to what is going on. Video below:

Wild Things is not for the kids after all

The movie, "Where the wild things are", debuted this weekend to rave reviews from adults that enjoyed "dark" stories. Parents with young children on the other hand are having to deal with children who where very disappointed or disturbed by the whole thing. The movie you see is not made for young children. It is about a child with anger issues. Message boards all over the internet are having hot tempered discussions about how parents with children under 10 were misled by the TV commercials and adults with no young children who liked the movie.

Baby machine family, the Duggars are at it again

The Duggar family is now expecting their 19th child. The 42 year old baby machine, Michelle Duggar made the announcement of their expectant 19th child on Tuesday. Michelle won't have to worry about changing more diapers as she has rarely done that chore in the past 10 years. The newborn will be "assigned" to another child to rear. They call it the buddy system. I call it a cop out. Of course Jim, the father, will not have to worry about were to get the money from to feed another mouth, they have a TV show and the more the merrier. If it was not the fact they were on TV for having so many kids in the first place I doubt if they would have even had the money for the house they live in.

It was the Duggars, Jim and his mother, who got the brilliant idea to approach a TV network with the idea of filming their large brood. The Discovery Channel was interested with the idea and bought it. Jim was building a home at the time and had run out of money. In fact the family was living on handouts from relatives. Lets say they were almost on the verge of welfare. The Discovery Channel stepped in and paid for the house to be finished.

Now that the family was on TV they could push their form of religion - breed like crazy. They have their own church. with a few close friends to make it a tax deduction. I wonder if the IRS should be looking into that. They also home school most of the kids. That way the children don't know any better when it comes to what a parent should be doing and not having the older children raise the younger children.

Good parenting skills went out the door when those dollar signs from heaven - opps I meant the Discovery Channel, showed up in their bank account.

That family has stirred up so much controversy since their 16th child, it is not funny anymore. Of course the internet is ripe with rumors and facts of the oldest children hating being raised like a herd. All of the older girls have been taught the same values as mom, find a husband and have lots of kids. Don't bother with a college education you won't need it to spend most of your time playing jungle gym in bed.

Here is an article about their life when the 18th child was on their way. You need to scroll down the page and read the comments since that is where you will find the rampant flame throwing.

The Octuplets mom is a lazy B****

If you have been watching the saga of the Octuplets and their self serving mother (Nadya Suleman) you would know that the mom has done very little in the way of actually taking care of those newborns. She recently "fired" her troop of volunteer and licensed nurses to bring in her own paid nurses from Kaiser hospital. Now I wonder who is paying for that specialized care. Is it the taxpayer? It might be since she could not afford the hospital bill for when they were born. In California if a patient can't pay then the state steps in and covers the bill so that a person is not denied medical attention when they need it.

The allegations are getting hot and heavy concerning the fact that the mother does not lift a finger to care for her babies and lets the nurses do everything. She goes on shopping sprees with donated money of course because she had nothing, not even a job or her own home when this all begun.

In my honest opinion I do think she had this all planned from the very beginning. Make headlines with the number of children and plead poverty for donations. After all there are 2 successful TV shows about very large families so why not one more? So far she has been right on the money. She has a new house and furniture plus $1 million in cash. All of that in under 6 weeks since this all began. How many of us can say the same thing for an unwed mother with kids who don't even know who their father is?

Poor Dr. Phil, he should have kept out of that mess. He is now trying to wash his hands of the whole affair. Phil, take my advice, you got into it too deep and you won't come away from that mess so clean.

Joaquin Phoenix is at it again

You remember the guest spot Joaquin had on the late night TV talk show with David Letterman a few weeks back. The one where he was acting just a bit weird. There was talk that it was all an act but below is more video that maybe it was not an act after all.

High tech gossip

You remember those TV commercials about lifelock, where the head of the company puts his social security number on a big truck and has it drive all over a big city? The company claims to protect you against identity theft. Well I guess the big credit issuing bureaus didn't like that so one of them. Experian has filed a lawsuit. Experian alleges and I quote "credit laws do not provide for a third party to place fraud alerts on behalf of a consumer.” CNN Money has a video on the lawsuit with the CEO of Lifelock.

It looks like this little lawsuit could get messy and us consumers will be the ones to either win or lose depending on the out come.

Barbara Walters admits to affair

It would have been such a scandal back in the 1970's - a famous black politician and a white TV anchor woman having a love affair. He was married at the time, she was not. Nowadays it is merely just another story, but not a scandal anymore. I think if the story broke back in the 1970's it would have been more based on race rather than politics. The video news is below.

The Governor of New York got caught rolling in the hay

Governor Spitzer did a no-no, he visited a high priced call girl and got caught. I am not really concerned about the a-hole but I do wonder if his wife knew anything about it. I saw her on the news tonight and the look on her face said "I didn't know!"

Stepping out on a limb

After visiting a few of the other celebrity "gossip" blogs and websites I have come to the conclusion that they must be catering to men. After all most of the photos are of scantly chad starlets and singers with their lungs hanging out of their dresses. I can certainly come across enough gossip without having to plaster half naked women all over the blog, that is degrading to the many women readers I have. Granted, in past posts (long past I might add) I did start putting up blog posts about celebrities falling out of their clothes. Then I started to find out from my visitor stats that my readers were not even looking at those types of posts. They were reading about a recently passed on actor or a famous sports hero. The other blog posts of half clad imps were just passed over.

Now I am confused. Why do women's gossip magazines have more photos of half naked women and very few pictures of the Hollywood hunks? Even Cosmopolitan magazine has a barely covered woman on their front covers every month. I know that some of the editors and publishers of these magazines are women so why are they catering to the men readers when they know that they don't buy women's magazines?

On that same note, are the blogs about gossip written by men? If they are then I wish they would be up front about it and quit trying to pretend they are women writing for a woman reader.

JK Rowling drops hints as to new Harry Potter book

Just when she said she has written her last Harry Potter book, JK Rowling has hinted there might be an 8th book. She says if she does write another Potter book it won't be written for at least another 10 years but her daughter is putting the pressure on her to write it. She did say that "if" she writes an 8th book in the series, Harry will not be the main character. This announcement was made to the Daily Mail a British newspaper, in December 2007. Let's face facts here, the Harry Potter books made Rowling and very rich woman. Why would she be so happy to leave a successful property like the Potter books alone? I say if you have a good thing going - keep going.

Jessica Simpson and her honey the QB of the Dallas Cowboys

What does Jessica see in her new beau? Is it because he is a jock or is she looking for more money? It certainly can't be for his good looks because quite frankly he doesn't have any. Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson. will it last or just a fling?
