Movies that start off great but go downhill from there

I, like many of you, have watched more movies on DVD than at the movies. So with that in mind here is a list of my top movies that I had to turn off because they were so bad..............but started off great. This will be a post that I will add to as time goes by so you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom, so you will be notified when I update it.

Top of the list is The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption.The movie should have been as good as the first 2 in the series but with the addition of the ninja warriors and the elephants, I had to turn it off as being totally unreal or even close to good fantasy writing. I didn't see the end so if aliens from Mars showed up in the last 20 minutes, don't tell me............I am not interested.

Next up is another movie that had some really good reviews and strange as it may sound is in the top 10 rented movies on Blockbuster. That movie is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.It actually starts out as totally believable. You can remove the historical Lincoln from the fantasy Lincoln in this stage of the movie. For me the point of turning it off was just after the battles in the Civil War were just fought and all the soldiers in the confederate army were vampires. Top that with the reason that they had slaves as unwilling blood donors and you just turned my stomach. Sorry, didn't finish that one, as I thought it was a total injustice to the people who fought and were used in the real Civil War. What the movie should have done was remove the name of Lincoln, remove the vampire soldiers in the Civil War and you would have a decent fantasy movie.

The lesser known movies of Johnny Depp

I bet you thought you knew everything about Johnny Depp. I bet you don't know that he starred in 2 movies along side greats Marlon Brando, Faye Dunaway and Jerry Lewis. He also has starred in Tom Petty's video "Rebel Without a Clue" with Faye Dunaway while on a film break.

The 2 movies that Depp starred in are Don Juan DeMarco where he starred along side Brando and Dunaway. Depp plays a man who thinks he is actually the real Don Juan. Brando plays his shrink. Lots of fun with that movie. The other one is Arizona Dream which starred Jerry Lewis and again Faye Dunaway. Depp plays an Eskimo in the movie and it won big film awards in Europe. The movie was not shown or promoted in the USA at all, which pissed off Dunaway which thought it was her best film ever.

It is that time of the year when we are right between the great summer blockbusters and the holiday blockbusters. The current movies being shown at the box office are mediocre at best. They are the current "B" rated movies and are sure to be on DVD within a few months after they disappear off of the big screen.

So what are we left with? How about free movies online? Yes you read it right, you can Watch Movies Online for free. Not only can you see movies but also TV shows that you missed. The place that has all of those free online movies made this cheesy commercial, which is sure to go viral due to the butt cheeks on the girls in it. Here is the vid:



So did that video get your attention? Personally I would have dressed the gals in something different. The bubble on their heads does nothing for me.

Got something ugly?

Everyone has something ugly they want to get rid of. Even big name celebrities has ugly things they wish they had never gotten. I bet Madonna wants to dump this ugly dress she wore.


Better yet who still owns what has to be one of the ugliest cars ever made? If you were thinking about the Gremlin you would be close. The Pacer below would get my vote. The car that looked like a greenhouse on wheels.


Or how about a homemade gizmo like this little treasure? A flesh and bone engine. It must have been a left over from the high price of gasoline last year.

Harry Potter and the half blood prince

Are you ready for the next Harry Potter movie? Warner Brothers is hoping you are. The 6th movie in the series of 8 movies (yes I know there were only 7 books but the plan is to make the last book into 2 movies) is scheduled to hit the US theaters on July 15, 2009.

I haven't seen the hype in the stores with Harry Potter clothes like in years past so maybe the theater going public is getting a bit worn out on Harry and his wizard friends. Only time will tell and of course we'll all see what happens come Halloween this year.

Models first, movie stars later

How many movie stars can you name that started out as models? Marilyn Monroe comes to mind first then Raquel Welch followed by Cybil Shepard. Did you know that Halle Berry also started out as a model? The Biography Channel even did a show about them. I wonder why they managed to leave out the male movie stars that started out as models.

Of course there are those that go from modeling straight to Playboy pinups and then on to the silver screen. With the advent of the internet, video models are no longer required to live in New York City or L.A., those areas are now for the runway models like those for Victoria Secret.

Many of the female models started out modeling clothes but a few of them started out with modeling cosmetics in print ads.

I wonder if one of them will make it to the silver screen? Maybe one of them already has. Better yet model an outfit and make your own YouTube video and maybe one day you can follow the likes of Halle Berry and the others.

Robin Williams will be undergoing the knife

Heart surgery is on the agenda for Robin Williams. The actor will have a heart valve replaced this week after he entered the hospital earlier for "shortness of breath". No word yet as to which hospital the actor is at.

Of course we all know about well known blond bombshells but what about redheads? One of the most loved and well known redheads was Lucille Ball. Who else can we think of? Here is a short but memorable list of redheads in the movies:

Redheads sure do make for some interesting performers. I wonder if they would find a website community totally devoted to redheads something strange or interesting. I guess that there is a website devoted to almost everything nowadays, but a whole online community about and for redheads?

The plot to extort John Travolta thickens

After John Travolta's son Jett died there has been an attempt to extort money from the Travolta family. So far a Senator, a minister of tourism and an ambulance driver have been mentioned in the conspiracy. The Senator has resigned her post, the minister is under investigation and the ambulance driver is still in custoday.

This little story is panning out to be stranger than one of Travolta's movies. I predict in a year or so this will be coming to a theater near you.

Sam Shepherd busted for DUI

The actor was caught speeding in IL on Saturday and busted for drunk driving.

Hugh Jackman and family gets mobbed by fans and reporters on Sunday

The next X-Men movie will be coming out soon and Hugh Jackman is feeling the crush of fans. He whole family was mobbed by the press and paparazzi as they left a Nicks game in New York on Sunday. Film footage is below. He (Hugh) is holding his daughter while his wife (the short haired blond) is holding their son's hand.

Do you go to the movies on Christmas Day?

For all those people that just have to get away from the family festivities on Christmas Day here is a list of movies that are scheduled to open right on Christmas Day 2008.

• The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. A movie about a man that is born at the age of 80 and as he "ages" he gets younger. Stars Brad Pitt.
  
• Bedtime Stories. A man tells bedtime stories that seem to becoming real. Stars Adam Sandler.
  

Lloyd of "Back to the Future" fame loses home in California wildfires

Christopher Lloyd is one of the many people that have lost their mansions in the Montecito fire north of Los Angeles. His home was worth an estimated $11 million. He does not plan to rebuild.

Angelina Jolie the tattooed lady

Angelina Jolie has at least 14 tattoos all over her body. A few of them are shown in the photo above - yes that is Jolie's back. Some are quite large and other are small symbols or good lucky charms. When she is doing a movie they are covered up by make-up. If she does not cover them up for celebrity events then she looks like the tattooed lady. William Shatner the whiner

I use to like Bill Shatner when he was Capt. Kirk on the old Star trek series. He was even pretty good in some of the Star Trek movies. I do believe that the man is getting too old and way too fat for my liking anymore. He did not keep his mouth shut when the latest Star trek movie did not want him in at least a cameo role. He managed to send out a video message to all his "friends" at myspace.com explaining in detail what he thought about the new movie. His latest publicity stunt if you call it that was whinnying about how he wasn't invited to George's wedding (his co-star in Star trek, Sulu). George on the other hand claims that Bill was invited but he never got an RSVP back from him. Come on Bill grow up, your body did but I guess your mind didn't.

Daniel Radcliffe all grown up

The Harry potter star is now 19 and showing his age now. The make-up used on him in the movies has done a lot to improve on his looks. Good looking as a child star, his latest appearance at the Tony Awards show has him looking raunchy and pale as ever as the photo shows.

Maybe he is trying to show the movie producers that he is capable of not looking so lovable - but so is your local meth addict. I wonder if he is the type to sport tattoos? Next we'll be hearing about him giving away free tattoo designs or some other "gimmic" to try and rid himself of the Harry Potter typecasting. Remember his nude stint in the stage show Equis?

Here is some tips for Daniel. Get rid of that hair style and quit dressing like a school boy. Maybe then he will get some challenging movie roles.
