Movies that start off great but go downhill from there

I, like many of you, have watched more movies on DVD than at the movies. So with that in mind here is a list of my top movies that I had to turn off because they were so bad..............but started off great. This will be a post that I will add to as time goes by so you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom, so you will be notified when I update it.

Top of the list is The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption. The movie should have been as good as the first 2 in the series but with the addition of the ninja warriors and the elephants, I had to turn it off as being totally unreal or even close to good fantasy writing. I didn't see the end so if aliens from Mars showed up in the last 20 minutes, don't tell me............I am not interested.

Next up is another movie that had some really good reviews and strange as it may sound is in the top 10 rented movies on Blockbuster. That movie is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It actually starts out as totally believable. You can remove the historical Lincoln from the fantasy Lincoln in this stage of the movie. For me the point of turning it off was just after the battles in the Civil War were just fought and all the soldiers in the confederate army were vampires. Top that with the reason that they had slaves as unwilling blood donors and you just turned my stomach. Sorry, didn't finish that one, as I thought it was a total injustice to the people who fought and were used in the real Civil War. What the movie should have done was remove the name of Lincoln, remove the vampire soldiers in the Civil War and you would have a decent fantasy movie.

A trip down memory lane

Did those photos make you feel old?

Kristen Chenoweth is a busy women

You remember "Olive" in the short lived TV show, Pushing up Daises, well she has been busy since that show went off the air. She is currently filming "You Again" a movie that is scheduled to be released in 2010. The movie's cast reads like a who's who of Hollywood. Here is a list of the other cast members:
Betty White
Patrick Duffy
Jamie Lee Curtis
Sigourney Weaver
Kristen Bell

By the way Kristen just won a Emmy tonight so congrats to her.

Lauren London is now a mama

Lauren is now a mama and I don't mean one hot mama but a real life mother. She and Li'l Wayne are parents to a boy. Wayne was there during the entire birth process and is one proud papa right now.

Casey Wilson too fat?

Rumors are flying that the former Saturday Night Live actress was fired due to her weighing too much. Casey Wilson denies the reports and just says her contract was not renewed. Now I ask you, does the photo of Casey depict her as fat? I say flat - put a bra on girl, no one wants pancakes for a dinner show. Better yet get into a workout plan and develop those pecs.

Two deaths in one day, who will number 3 be?

Farrah and Micheal both dead today. Farrah losing her battle with cancer earlier today and just this afternoon Micheal Jackson suffering a fatal heart attack.

Farrah Fawcett was 62 and Micheal Jackson 50. Normally celebrities die in groups of 3 so who will be next?

Farrah Fawcett, is she dying of cancer?

Farrah is hospitalized in critical condition in LA. Speculation is that her cancer has come back in full force and now she is dying. She was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and underwent treatment. The cancer came back in 2007.

Eartha Mae Kitt dies

Eartha Kitt was known for her unusual voice and the fact she played one of the many "Catwomen" roles on the old TV series Batman. She was one of the first black women to gain access to White House functions in the form of a guest and not as one of the help.

Now that she is gone I can imagine that her movies and music will become collectors items overnight.

Angelina Jolie the tattooed lady

Angelina Jolie has at least 14 tattoos all over her body. A few of them are shown in the photo above - yes that is Jolie's back. Some are quite large and other are small symbols or good lucky charms. When she is doing a movie they are covered up by make-up. If she does not cover them up for celebrity events then she looks like the tattooed lady. If you want to find out in detail with photos all of Angelina Jolie's tattoos then click here.

Hollywood makeovers

Did you know that the month before the Oscars is the busiest month for Hollywood plastic surgeons? I didn't know that there were that many sagging parts in southern CA. I know that lots of starlets end up having a Boob Job but it seems that facial cosmetic surgery is becoming the more popular thing to have done. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that many of the bigger name actresses are now aging and they don't want to age gracefully. Now I wonder if the men will be getting on the band wagon for cosmetic surgery, don't laugh cuz I know several top salesmen that have had facial work done.

Mariel Hemingway

What has the actress Mariel been up to lately? Since we haven't seen much about her on the big screen we thought we would take a look. Her last movie was in 2006. She had been busy prior to that writing 2 books, Finding My Balance a memoir, including Yoga & Meditation Routines (2002) and Mariel Hemingway's Healthy Living from the Inside Out: Every Woman's Guide to Real Beauty, Renewed Energy, and a Radiant Life (2006). That last title was a mouth full. You would think that she could find a shorter title for her books. Her personal life has been turbulent with her husband battling cancer and promoting her books. She is rumoured to endorse a book called The Sedona Method which is about finding a happiness set point. It seems to be similar to Mariel's yoga practices. I visited her blog and website, yes she has both, but I could find no mention of Sedona. You would think that if she had endorsed a book that she would have at least put an ad on her blog or at least mentioned it somewhere. On the Sedona site they have a large excerpt from the book quoting Mariel, but no where does it state she endorses the method. I should hope it was an oversight on Mariel's part not to mention it somewhere. The Sedona website has a free DVD and CD offered so you can look into it yourself. Yes this post is sponsored by Sedona but I will always tell it like it is.
