Why do we have to know?

What is so fascinating about celebrities that we have to follow their every move? Is it that we want to know more about them? Or is it that the media in general has pressured the public into thinking they want to know more? When a person first hears about something happening to a big name celebrity most reactions are mild until a second or third person hits on the same information then just sit back and watch the frenzy grow. I really think we feed on each other when it comes to celebrities and gossip. All I can say is welcome to the feeding frenzy.
