It's movie time
It is that time of the year when we are right between the great summer blockbusters and the holiday blockbusters. The current movies being shown at the box office are mediocre at best. They are the current "B" rated movies and are sure to be on DVD within a few months after they disappear off of the big screen.
So what are we left with? How about free movies online? Yes you read it right, you can Watch Movies Online for free. Not only can you see movies but also TV shows that you missed. The place that has all of those free online movies made this cheesy commercial, which is sure to go viral due to the butt cheeks on the girls in it. Here is the vid:
So did that video get your attention? Personally I would have dressed the gals in something different. The bubble on their heads does nothing for me.
Movie Planet is more than just a place to watch movies for free, it is also a full fledged movie community where you can learn what your favorite actor or movie director is up to next. They are already showing season 2 in England and I know that it is renewed for season 2 here in the USA but I need a start date.

Wild Things is not for the kids after all
The movie, "Where the wild things are", debuted this weekend to rave reviews from adults that enjoyed "dark" stories. Parents with young children on the other hand are having to deal with children who where very disappointed or disturbed by the whole thing. The movie you see is not made for young children. It is about a child with anger issues. Message boards all over the internet are having hot tempered discussions about how parents with children under 10 were misled by the TV commercials and adults with no young children who liked the movie.

Got something ugly?
Everyone has something ugly they want to get rid of. Even big name celebrities has ugly things they wish they had never gotten. I bet Madonna wants to dump this ugly dress she wore.
Better yet who still owns what has to be one of the ugliest cars ever made? If you were thinking about the Gremlin you would be close. The Pacer below would get my vote. The car that looked like a greenhouse on wheels.
Or how about a homemade gizmo like this little treasure? A flesh and bone engine. It must have been a left over from the high price of gasoline last year.
So do you have something ugly to get rid of? I bet you do. Would you like to get something for it? I bet you do. Well you can. If you post a picture or video of something ugly you want to get rid of on LG Bliss Facebook Fan Page you can win a brand new LG Bliss phone. The contest runs from 9/11/2009 to 11/6/2009 and you can post a photo or video of something you consider ugly (sorry no people pics) and want to get rid of.
So what are you getting rid of? Got an old outdated piece of electronics? How about that old VHS movie that you never watch (I think I have at least 10 of those collecting dust).

Casey Wilson too fat?
Rumors are flying that the former Saturday Night Live actress was fired due to her weighing too much. Casey Wilson denies the reports and just says her contract was not renewed. Now I ask you, does the photo of Casey depict her as fat? I say flat - put a bra on girl, no one wants pancakes for a dinner show. Better yet get into a workout plan and develop those pecs.
Motley Crue - where are they now?
The heavy metal band of the 1980's and into the early 1990's with many tops videos on MTV and now VH1, Motley Crue, are they still around? So what are they up to? Are they still a band? I took a look and here is what I found:
Yes they are still doing tours and they have just released their 9th album. Since forming in 1981 they broke up briefly in the late 1990's and got back together around 2005. They are working on a movie called Dirt that is in the works and might be released sometime in 2011.

Baby machine family, the Duggars are at it again
The Duggar family is now expecting their 19th child. The 42 year old baby machine, Michelle Duggar made the announcement of their expectant 19th child on Tuesday. Michelle won't have to worry about changing more diapers as she has rarely done that chore in the past 10 years. The newborn will be "assigned" to another child to rear. They call it the buddy system. I call it a cop out. Of course Jim, the father, will not have to worry about were to get the money from to feed another mouth, they have a TV show and the more the merrier. If it was not the fact they were on TV for having so many kids in the first place I doubt if they would have even had the money for the house they live in.
It was the Duggars, Jim and his mother, who got the brilliant idea to approach a TV network with the idea of filming their large brood. The Discovery Channel was interested with the idea and bought it. Jim was building a home at the time and had run out of money. In fact the family was living on handouts from relatives. Lets say they were almost on the verge of welfare. The Discovery Channel stepped in and paid for the house to be finished.
Now that the family was on TV they could push their form of religion - breed like crazy. They have their own church. with a few close friends to make it a tax deduction. I wonder if the IRS should be looking into that. They also home school most of the kids. That way the children don't know any better when it comes to what a parent should be doing and not having the older children raise the younger children.
Good parenting skills went out the door when those dollar signs from heaven - opps I meant the Discovery Channel, showed up in their bank account.
That family has stirred up so much controversy since their 16th child, it is not funny anymore. Of course the internet is ripe with rumors and facts of the oldest children hating being raised like a herd. All of the older girls have been taught the same values as mom, find a husband and have lots of kids. Don't bother with a college education you won't need it to spend most of your time playing jungle gym in bed.
Here is an article about their life when the 18th child was on their way. You need to scroll down the page and read the comments since that is where you will find the rampant flame throwing.

Don't tell me you haven't seen the newest TV show in the line of actuality TV - truTV BLACK GOLD. It has been on TruTV for a week now. This is it's second season on the air.
Here are a few little known facts about the show and the truTV BLACK GOLD characters:
Now are you more inclined to watch the show? Is it dangerous enough for you? I find that most real life TV shows appeal to people that have a connection to that profession. I personally have more of a connection to the AX Men show simply because I live in an area that is logged. For people living on the coast, Deadliest Catch might have more appeal. Of course Black Gold appeals to all those men that are mechanically inclined or have a job working with heavy equipment. Not all men will be watching the show. I have heard the remark "it reminds me too much of where I work" and they won't be watching the show. I wonder what the truTV BLACK GOLD Healthcare plan is like?
Here are a few little known facts about the show and the truTV BLACK GOLD characters:
- The second season will feature "Rooster" McConaughey, the brother of movie actor Matthew. This is also a second season for Rooster, who also appeared in season one.
- Rooster named his second son Miller Lyte after his favorite beer
- The newest member of the crew is a city slicker added to make the series a touch more nerve wrenching.
- Since the opening show many of the men are getting a women fan base. Many websites getting requests for more photos of the sweaty, muddy men.
- Miller Lite beer and the fast food chain Wendy's are the sponsors of the second season, I guess that is to appeal to the young viewers that are watching.
- Miller Lite beer will also be featured in the show itself. I wonder if that is a wise move?
- The show's major audience is men ages 18-54
- Autry Stephens is the owner of the oil company featured in the second season. He is a multimillionaire. He has more than 4,000 wells producing approximately $1.5 million of oil every day.
- Stephens is a local legend and owner of the 10th largest producing company of Texas oil.

This case is now considered closed by the police but I wonder if there is more to it than meets the eye.

Oil reality show
You have experienced Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men and The Deadliest Catch, are you ready for the next offering of high risk jobs? Filmed in the oil fields of west Texas those people that produced those other shows now brings us Black Gold. I remember watching the movie with John Wayne only recently about the life of Red Adair (the famous oil fire fighter) and wondered if this show will produce that type of entertainment. "Red" Adair passed away in 2004. If he was still alive I wonder if he would be watching the show. Fighting oil fires takes a special type of human of which there are only very few in this world. Watch the videos below and see for yourself what is required for these tough jobs.
Another video that will wet your appetite for the show. You can also watch truTV's Black Gold drilling .
I know that I will never have what it takes to handle that type of job. Does it look easy to you? I have got to take my hat off to those types of shows. It helps to demystify the glamor of many dangerous jobs.

Reality or TruTV?
Don't you just love the words that TV throws at us? First it was "reality" TV where you watch things on TV that were not rehearsed or the footage edited. Now we have actuality TV were you can watch crimes being committed, accidents as they happen and all other glorious and gory parts of life. Producers have spared us no room for imagination anymore. That could be a bad thing or a good thing depending on your imagination.
How do you react to to watching those types of shows? Can you take 'em or leave them? Do you get verbal and talk back to the TV or be quite because everyone will look at you strange if you do? I certainly hope you don't act anything out or get violent.
Crime shows like Cops and Forensic Files are among the most popular on TruTV but other shows such as The Smoking Gun Presents and Haunting Evidence are gaining a following. All of them will cause the truTV effect in you if you are not careful. Remember even too much laughing will cause pain.
TruTV has made an hilarious TV ad that just left me in stitches. You can watch it below. Caution, you might want to see more of it. All I can say is thank goodness we don't have any close neighbors. You can go to the TruTV website and watch more truTV videos, in fact they have everything on there.
Well, what did you think? Funny or not? Does it make you want to watch their shows? or was it cute for all of 3 minutes and that is it?

Las Vegas to host fantasy football draft
This year's Las Vegas Fantasy Football Superdraft will be held August 27th - 30th, 2009. It promises to be a entertaining weekend with performances by rapper FLO RIDA and George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic (AKA the P Funk Band).
Many of the top hotels in Las Vegas will be hosting the event. Every one of the hotels is planing something special. Fantasy sports has come a long way since it first was developed years ago. Lots of fantasy football gurus and some well known sports celebrities are reported to be on hand for the event.
So what else will be going on at the event? Among the events will be a VIP Party on 8/28 at LAX Nightclub at Luxor Hotel and Casino and a pool party at the Mirage with "pool playmates". There will even be a tailgate party.
The weekend is certainly geared towards men with cheerleaders and "playmates". Be warned if the men in your family express a sudden wish to visit Las Vegas this coming August.

I haven't seen the hype in the stores with Harry Potter clothes like in years past so maybe the theater going public is getting a bit worn out on Harry and his wizard friends. Only time will tell and of course we'll all see what happens come Halloween this year.

Models first, movie stars later
How many movie stars can you name that started out as models? Marilyn Monroe comes to mind first then Raquel Welch followed by Cybil Shepard. Did you know that Halle Berry also started out as a model? The Biography Channel even did a show about them. I wonder why they managed to leave out the male movie stars that started out as models.
Of course there are those that go from modeling straight to Playboy pinups and then on to the silver screen. With the advent of the internet, video models are no longer required to live in New York City or L.A., those areas are now for the runway models like those for Victoria Secret.
Many of the female models started out modeling clothes but a few of them started out with modeling cosmetics in print ads.
Here is a video from YouTube showing a wonderful selection of models showing off AMIClubwear.
I wonder if one of them will make it to the silver screen? Maybe one of them already has. AMI is also giving away a $300 gift certificate for just following them on YouTube, here are the official contest rules. Maybe you can win one of those outfits the girls are wearing in the video. Better yet model an outfit and make your own YouTube video and maybe one day you can follow the likes of Halle Berry and the others.

On June 1st Jay Leno is out as the host of the Tonight Show. Conan is taking over as host. My personal opinion is that Conan will make a lousy Tonight Show host. Here is a list would I would think would be excellent choices as host of the Tonight Show:
- Robin Williams. His humor would keep the show going even if there were no guests.
- Howie Mandel. He has proven himself as a host of game shows.
- Tom Bergeron, the host of America's Funniest Videos.
- A female comedian. Maybe it is time for a sex change.

Meet Motown celebrities on a cruise
How would you like to be on the same cruise ship with Motown greats the Temptation, Mary Wilson and The Four Tops? This coming January 2010 there is going to be such a cruise from Miami to Mexico and back to Miami with those performers. It is called the Heatwave Celebrity Cruise The 5 day trip is supposed to be jam packed with the stars performing and of course mingling with the rest of the people on board.

Beach wear, celebrity style
The basic bikini is still very much in vogue for celebrities at the beach. Some wear them well and others need to put a cover-up over their skinny frames. Below are just some of those famous gals with not so famous bodies, all in bikinis:
Hillary Duff
Lindsay Lohan
Nicole Richie
Now if you have delusions of wanting to look like the stars while at the beach I really think you can do better and look more like the swim suit model below showing off what those stars are suppose to look like in those bikinis.
This summer is starting to look good from all entertainment angles. Now if we can only get Nicole Richie to put some weight on or at least wear a one piece suit.

CSI - the big screen movie
Yes CSI is coming to a theater near you. Bill Petersen hinted back in September 2008 of a big screen movie, well now it is in the pipeline according the Bill. His character "Grisom" will more than likely be in the movie. It was one of the main reasons he didn't have himself killed off in the series (yes Bill is one of the producers of CSI so he has a say in what goes on).
He hinted that the story line is a great one, enough to take it to the big screen. No word yet on the release date.
Robin McGraw bores the heck out of Phil's audience
If you watched today's Doctor Phil show you would have noticed that that Phil's wife took over the show. In my humble opinion it was one of the most boring shows on record for Phil. They took what could have been an interesting subject - female hormones, and made it boring. It was almost like a one hour infomercial about products that are Treatments for Symptoms. I wonder if Phil has stock in the medical companies that his wife was supporting. A show about women talking about hot flashes was not my idea of a good show.
I suppose if you like watching the View then today's Doctor Phil's show would have been your style but not for me and I am a women. TV shows are meant to entertain and that show fell short by a mile. For information just look it up in a reference book or on the internet.
